Antifungals
This category covers medicines that treat fungal infections of the skin, nails and elsewhere. Skin infections often respond to creams, while nail and widespread infections may need oral treatment. Confirming that a rash or nail change really is fungal matters, because the same appearance can come from eczema, psoriasis or a bacterial infection.

Grifulvin V
250mg
Grifulvin V is griseofulvin 250mg tablets for tinea capitis, tinea corporis and tinea pedis. It binds microtubular proteins and disrupts the mitotic spindle.

Lomexin Cream
30g
Lomexin Cream is fenticonazole in a 30g tube for candidiasis, applied to the skin. It blocks ergosterol synthesis in the fungal cell membrane.
Key points
- Site decides the form: skin infections often clear with a cream, while nail and scalp infections usually need oral treatment.
- Oral antifungals are taken for weeks to months, and longer courses can require monitoring.
- Fungal, bacterial and inflammatory rashes look alike, and treating the wrong one delays recovery.
Classes and ingredients in this category
- Topical antifungals such as ketoconazole and fenticonazole treat skin and yeast infections.
- Oral antifungals like terbinafine, itraconazole and griseofulvin clear stubborn nail and scalp infections.
Conditions it covers
These medicines are used for tinea corporis, tinea pedis, candidiasis and tinea capitis. Identifying the organism and the affected site is what makes treatment work, so diagnosis comes before medicine.
