How Ordering Works

ZoneMD helps expats, travellers and people far from a reliable local pharmacy find medicine information, compare available options, and continue to checkout through pharmacy partners.

The process is designed for people living across borders, especially in Asia, where medicine access can vary widely between Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea. Brand names, pack sizes, prescription rules and local availability often differ from country to country. ZoneMD makes those differences easier to understand before you order.

1. Find your medicine

Search by medicine name, active ingredient, condition or category.

Each medicine page helps you understand:

  • what the medicine is commonly used for
  • the active ingredient
  • available brand and generic options
  • strengths and pack sizes
  • basic points to check before choosing
  • where our information comes from

This is useful if the brand you know from the UK, EU, Australia, India, Thailand or another country is sold under a different name elsewhere. The active ingredient is often the best way to compare medicines across borders.

2. Compare brands, generics and strengths

Once you find a medicine, compare the available options side by side.

You can check:

  • original brands and generic alternatives
  • active ingredient and dosage strength
  • pack size
  • price
  • available currencies
  • practical notes from the medicine guide

Generics usually contain the same active ingredient as the original brand, but they may differ in manufacturer, appearance, inactive ingredients, pack size or local brand name. If you are unsure which option is appropriate, ask a doctor or pharmacist before ordering.

3. Choose your pack and continue to checkout

Select the strength and pack size, add the item to your cart, and continue to checkout.

Depending on the medicine and destination, extra checks may apply. Some medicines may require a valid prescription, pharmacist review, identity details, or additional confirmation before fulfilment. These checks are handled as part of the dispensing and shipping process.

Not every medicine can be shipped to every country. Local medicine rules, import limits, customs checks and prescription requirements vary by destination.

4. Review shipping options

Exact shipping prices are calculated at checkout. Current flat-fee options include:

Shipping optionEstimated timeTrackingNotes
Express Tracked Courier5–9 business daysFull trackingApprox. $30, with end-to-end tracking where available
Standard Airmail14–21 business days, sometimes up to 30 daysNo trackingDiscreet postal delivery
Free ShippingDepends on shipping methodDepends on methodApplied automatically on orders over $200

Delivery estimates are not guarantees. Customs checks, courier delays, local holidays, destination-country rules and pharmacy checks can affect timing.

For expats in Asia, this matters because delivery conditions can differ significantly between countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore and Hong Kong. Plan ahead and avoid ordering only when you are about to run out.

5. Packaging

Parcels are shipped in neutral, unmarked packaging.

There are no pharmacy logos, product branding or visible indication of the parcel contents on the outside of the package.

For larger orders, parcels may be split. Orders exceeding 120 tablets are usually divided into smaller packages, which may arrive on different days.

6. Payment

Accepted payment methods include:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • American Express
  • Bitcoin
  • Ethereum

Card payments are processed through encrypted external payment gateways. Cryptocurrency payments currently receive an extra 10% discount at checkout.

Payment availability may vary depending on order details, destination or payment-provider rules.

7. Delivery guarantee

The Total Delivery Guarantee covers:

  • delays beyond the estimated delivery window
  • parcels damaged in transit
  • parcels confirmed as lost

If your shipment is delayed beyond the delivery window, damaged or lost, contact support through live chat or the customer portal. A replacement shipment will be arranged at no cost where possible.

If a second delivery is not possible, a full refund is issued.

8. Cancellations

You can request cancellation within 24 hours of ordering, provided the parcel has not shipped.

Contact support immediately through live chat or the customer portal. Once the package leaves the dispensing facility, the order is final and can no longer be cancelled.

9. Returns

Medicines cannot be returned for change of mind.

Once medication leaves a regulated dispensary, it cannot be safely restocked or resold. This protects product integrity and patient safety.

If an order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, notify support within:

  • 30 days for most items
  • 14 days for temperature-sensitive items

Support will review the issue and arrange a replacement where appropriate.

Ordering medicine while abroad

If you live overseas, travel often, or work remotely across countries, medicine access can become complicated. The same medicine may be easy to find in one country and difficult to source in another. A familiar brand name may also change, even when the active ingredient is the same.

Before ordering, it helps to know:

  • the active ingredient, not only the brand name
  • your usual dosage strength
  • whether the medicine normally needs a prescription
  • how much supply you have left
  • whether your destination allows import of that medicine
  • whether you need a doctor or pharmacist to review your choice
  • which shipping option gives you enough time before you run out

A simple habit is to keep a note of both the brand name and the active ingredient of medicines you use regularly. This makes it easier to compare options when you move between countries.

Prescription medicines

Some medicines require a prescription or professional review before they can be supplied. This depends on the medicine, the pharmacy partner, and the destination country.

ZoneMD is not a replacement for a doctor, pharmacist or local medical service. If your medicine is prescription-only, used for a long-term condition, or has important safety considerations, check with a qualified professional before changing brand, strength or treatment plan.

What ZoneMD does

ZoneMD helps you:

  • search medicines by name, ingredient, condition or category
  • compare brands and generics
  • understand common medicine-name differences across countries
  • view strengths, packs and prices where available
  • review shipping, payment and delivery terms before checkout
  • continue to delivery options through pharmacy partners
  • read medicine guides written for practical decision-making

What ZoneMD does not do

ZoneMD does not diagnose conditions, prescribe treatment, or decide which medicine is right for you. Our guides are general information only.

Your doctor or pharmacist should have the final say, especially if you are pregnant, have a chronic condition, take other medicines, have allergies, or are ordering medicine for a child.

Before you order

Before checkout, check:

  • medicine name and active ingredient
  • dosage strength
  • pack size
  • whether you need a prescription
  • whether the medicine is allowed in your destination country
  • delivery timing
  • shipping method
  • your current supply
  • cancellation and return rules
  • advice from your doctor or pharmacist, where needed

Ordering earlier is safer than waiting until your last few tablets. International delivery can be affected by customs, holidays, courier delays or local pharmacy checks.

Why this matters for expats in Asia

Many expats in Asia rely on a mix of local pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, imported medicines and online services. Availability can vary sharply between major cities and islands, tourist areas and rural locations, or countries with different medicine registration systems.

Someone in Bangkok, Phuket, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Ho Chi Minh City, Bali, Singapore or Hong Kong may face very different options, prices and brand names for the same active ingredient.

ZoneMD is built to make that process clearer: find the medicine, understand the options, compare brands and generics, review shipping terms, then continue to the available delivery route.
