Patient summary

Formulated to target cognitive decline in Alzheimer's disease, intended to support memory and daily cognitive function.

Mechanism of action

Donepezil reversibly inhibits the enzyme acetylcholinesterase, which breaks down acetylcholine. This prevents the degradation of acetylcholine, thereby increasing its concentrations in the synaptic cleft and enhancing cholinergic neurotransmission, which may improve cognitive function in dementia.

What you will receive

Aricept is the originator brand name, made by Eisai. We use it here to identify the medicine only; we are not affiliated with Eisai and do not ship the original Aricept.

  • You receive a generic equivalent: the same active ingredient (Donepezil) at the same dose, mostly recognised Indian branded generics from vetted manufacturers.
  • The exact brand supplied depends on what is in stock at the dispatching warehouse.
  • A regulated generic matches the original ingredient for ingredient by legal standard.

Are all generics really the same? Read the honest answer.
