Tinidazole Tablets
500mg
Indicated to target anaerobic bacterial infections to support recovery.
Anaerobic bacteria need little or no oxygen to survive. When they breach normal barriers, through surgery, injury, dental work, or bowel perforation, they can cause serious infections in the abdomen, pelvis, lungs, mouth, or deep soft tissue. Recognised early, most anaerobic bacterial infections respond well to targeted antimicrobial treatment.

Indicated to target anaerobic bacterial infections to support recovery.
Unlike common wound infections, anaerobic infections often produce a foul-smelling discharge, form gas within tissue, or progress rapidly after abdominal or dental surgery. Common presentations include peritonitis after a ruptured appendix, lung abscess, pelvic inflammatory complications, and necrotising soft-tissue infections. In tropical and subtropical climates across Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines, soil and water exposure during monsoon season can raise the risk of mixed anaerobic wound infections.
Treatment targets both eliminating the bacteria and draining any abscess that has formed. Antibiotics active against anaerobes are central to management; tinidazole is one agent used against susceptible anaerobic organisms, often alongside drainage or surgical debridement when an abscess is present.
Seek urgent medical attention if you develop rapidly spreading redness or swelling, high fever with abdominal rigidity, or foul-smelling discharge from a wound or surgical site.
