How does Advair work?
Advair contains two drugs: fluticasone propionate, a corticosteroid, and salmeterol, a long-acting beta2-agonist. Corticosteroids like fluticasone propionate reduce the amount of inflammation in your lungs. This helps clear some of the swelling and mucus that can block airflow through your lungs.
What are the different types of Advair?
Advair is available as an inhaled drug in 2 different forms: 1,2 Advair Diskus – This form contains powder for inhalation. It can be used to treat asthma in adults and children ages 4 years or older, as well as COPD in adults. Advair HFA – This is an inhalation aerosol solution or metered-dose inhaler.
Is Advair a safe drug?
The absence of warnings or other information for a given drug does not indicate that the drug or drug combination is safe, effective, or appropriate for all patients or all specific uses.
