What is Xolair used for?
Both Xolair and Nucala are used in certain situations to treat asthma and nasal polyps. In addition, Nucala treats eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis and hypereosinophilic syndrome. These are conditions in which you have a high level of eosinophils (a type of immune cell). Xolair is also used for hives in some people.

Does Xolair treat asthma?
Xolair has been found effective in treating allergic asthma when it’s used with other asthma medications called inhaled corticosteroids (ICS). After 16 weeks of treatment in clinical studies, more people using Xolair experienced no asthma attacks, compared with people using a placebo (treatment with no active drug).

The absence of warnings or other information for a given drug does not indicate that the drug or drug combination is safe, effective, or appropriate for all patients or all specific uses. Can I take Xolair If I have asthma?
If you have asthma or nasal polyps, your doctor may prescribe Xolair. Moderate to severe long-lasting allergic asthma. For this condition, Xolair can be used in adults and children ages 6 years and older. Asthma is a long-lasting breathing disease. With asthma, you have inflammation in your airways, and your airways are narrower than usual.
When should Xolair be used?
In patients aged 12 years or over, Xolair must only be used if the lung function is less than 80% of normal. chronic (long-term) spontaneous urticaria (itchy rash). It is used as an add-on to existing treatment in patients aged 12 years or over in whom treatment with an antihistamine does not work well enough;
