What is Fluad quadrivalent?
An adjuvant is an ingredient added to a vaccine that helps create a stronger immune response to vaccination. Fluad Quadrivalent is approved for use among people 65 years and older, who often have a lower protective immune response after flu vaccination compared to younger people. What is MF59? MF59 is an oil-in-water emulsion of squalene oil.

What is Fluad ® quad?
FLUAD ® Quad is an adjuvanted seasonal influenza vaccine for adults 65 years and older. 1 Adding an adjuvant to the influenza vaccine enhances the antibody response to the antigens in the vaccine, 1,2 by: increasing the magnitude of the antibody response by stimulating more immune cells to create more antibodies 1-4 *
What is Fluad pediatric/Fluad®?
FLUAD Pediatric/FLUAD® is aninactivated influenza virus vaccine indicated for active immunization against influenza in the pediatric population (6 months to less than 2 years of age) and the elderly (65 years of age and older) (see Part II CLINICAL TRIALS).
What is Fluad tetra?
Each of these circulate as different strains, which change over time. Fluad Tetra will contain proteins from four different inactivated influenza A and B virus strains (two strains of type A influenza virus of the subtypes H1N1 and H3N2 and two type B strains). They are chosen according to the official recommendation for the annual flu season.
How to use Fluad?
The use of Fluad should be based on official recommendations. A single 0.5 ml dose should be administered by intramuscular injection into the deltoid muscle. Due to the presence of the adjuvant, the injection should be carried out by using a 1 inch needle. For instructions for preparation, see section 6.6.
What are the excipients of Fluad?
Fluad may contain traces of eggs such as ovalbumin or chicken proteins, kanamycin and neomycin sulphate, formaldehyde, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), barium sulphate and hydrocortisone, which are used during the manufacturing process (see section 4.3).
