Can a smartphone app help people with asthma manage their condition?
A new and unique smartphone app to help people with asthma manage their condition has been developed by lung experts at the Nottingham Respiratory Research Unit and the pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). The MyAsthma app has been launched on the iTunes App Store and is available to download free of charge.
How much does the asthma app cost?
Registration with the app is free and involves putting in minimal information to ensure the app is personalised to you. No information is shared with any third party, but anonymised data will support improvement efforts to local clinical services and it may also contribute towards population-based asthma research.
What is the myasthma app?
The myAsthma app can be accessed on almost any internet-connected. It provides people with asthma with the tools they need to self-manage more effectively and clinicians with a way to remotely monitor, manage and support their patients at a population scale.
