What is Vision Support?
Vision Support is a regional charity which was established in 1876, we now operate in many parts of Cheshire and North Wales providing local support and services within the local community. We exist to support vision impaired people and raise awareness of their needs.
How can Vision Support help people with vision impairment?
Vision Support will offer communication skills training including digital inclusion training and braille lessons. In addition short courses in ‘Living with Sight Loss’ will be run to ensure people with vision impairment have up to date information on a wide range of relevant issues.
What does a vision support resource centre do?
Our fully trained staff and volunteers at the Vision Support Resource Centres demonstrate and order specialist equipment to assist with daily living. They also have a range of information on our services and other services available locally and nationally.
Where can I find support for people with vision loss?
Ask your local hospital if they have an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO), whose role involves providing support to people with vision loss in eye clinics. If you're blind or partially sighted, you may find it helpful to contact a support group for people with vision loss. The RNIB is the UK's leading charity for people with vision loss.
